Fresh Chocolate Covered Cherries

Looking for a treat that's sweet and satisfying?
Here's a fresh take on a classic.

Start with Bing Cherries and Rainier Cherries.
These Rainier Cherries, by the way, were totally worth the extra dollar a pound!

Start by removing the pesky pit.  You can do this and still leave the stem intact by putting the cherry pitter through the cherry sideways.  Check your hand model for a fresh manicure.

You'll need the stems for dipping.

Hold the stem and dip the cherry into the melted chocolate.  Place on parchment paper and refrigerate.
Schedule a manicure for yourself, too.

Dip the Bing Cherries in dark chocolate....

....  and dip the Rainier Cherries in white chocolate.

Or dip the Bing Cherries in white chocolate....

... and the Rainier Cherries in dark chocolate.

If all else fails, try one of each!

For my Weight Watchers Friends:
4 Chocolate Covered Bing Cherries = 2 Points Plus
4 Chocolate Covered Rainer Cherries = 3 Points Plus
(Sorry, they were bigger!)

Where do I find a cherry pitter! I just made a fruit salad and spent a great deal of time trying to remove the cherry pits. This is a lovely fresh dessert and a nice change from strawberries dipped in chocolate.
This one came from Williams Sonoma. My lucky husband got it from me for Christmas! :-)

Beautiful! But what kind of chocolate did you use? Bakers chocolate or Wilton's type? Thank you for sharing!
Usually I use the Wilton's candy melts. They have a really nice melting consistency!
